Our engine problems have been solved and the frame is almost ready. The geometry has been designed to provide maximum torsional strength and safety. Of course it also complies with the FS rules and requirements. Welding work has been done by Mika & the boys with great precision. The FORM500-tubes provided by SSAB have been easy to weld despite having quite a yield strength.
The engine team has been busy with their designs. For example the intake manifold (render below) is now ready to be manufactured. Material for the aluminium piping will be provided by ProCater oy. We’re still looking up possibilities for the plastic parts.
We also got a huge load of sheet metal (mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium) from SSAB yesterday. We’re really thankful since this will meet our needs for a few generations of FS cars!
